Saturday 9th November – The Secret Songwriters Club feat Tiny Pioneers [8pm] Admission Free – Donations WelcomeWe welcome the return of The Secret Songwriters Club hosted by James Farmer aka Tiny Pioneers.
Tiny Pioneers is a purveyor of folk-tinged, punk-influenced, alt-acoustic majesty. From catchy fat-chorded foot-stompers, to hauntingly finger picked compositions, Tiny Pioneers creates lyrical worlds, moments captured like short stories set to melody, using a handful of chords, a mouthful of words, a pocketful of nothing and a heart full of hurts.
Nixon Tate delivers soulful and unashamedly regional vocals on a bed of organically crafted and infinitely layered instrumentation. His wistful and captivating sound has seen this Staffordshire music scene veteran carve out his musical niche as if it were a fine art form, whittling down hazy soundscapes, alluring harmonies and driving bass lines for heart-wrenching results. Recent highlights include achieving plays on BBC RADIO 2 and BBC 6 Music as well as supporting Graham Coxon of Blur and 90s indie legends Space on tour.
COCOH is an emerging artist from Stoke-on-Trent, who creates music that floats between the genres of indiefolk and acoustic pop. Her soft vocals have been described to be wrapped in ‘a layer of celestial charm, echoing the likes of Kate Bush. Check her out on Spotify.
Although this is a free gig we will be putting the “hat” around. Please give generously.
