The Secret Agent | (Brazil, France, Netherlands, Germany, 2025) Directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, 158 min., English, Portuguese and German with English subtitles, rated RBrazil’s official submission for the 98th Academy Award Best International Feature Film, The Secret Agent, set in 1977 is the story of a technology expert seeking refuge in his hometown. Fleeing from a mysterious past he returns to his hometown of Recife, but he soon realizes that it is not the peaceful place he seeks.
