The Sanctuary OPEN MIC Edition

A sanctuary is a place of safety, refuge, and protection. It provides comfort and tranquility. That's what poetry is for many of us. At the Sanctuary, you will hear from poets of all walks of life. They each will have one thing in common - a love for spoken word. Whether this is your first poetry event or your tenth, you will leave fed and inspired. Despite everyting going on in the world, you can find refuge and safety at The Sanctuary.

Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm.

SIGN UP RULES

• A minimum of 21 poets will perform
• First 7 spots will go to THE FIRST poets to sign up online (SOLD OUT)
• Next 7 spots will go to THE FIRST to sign-up in-person the day of the event
• Final 7 will be selected by a RANDOMIZED rafflE
• If time remains, there will be a waitlist determined by a first come first serve basis
• Priority will be given to those who have NOT featured at a previous Sanctuary Showcase

GENERAL RULES

• POETRY ONLY! There will not an opportunity to play music
• Every performance will be recorded and clips posted on the Instagram page
• Poets will not be allowed introductions, disclaimers, or outros (poems only). Brief introductions will be given by the host
• One poem only, not to exceed 3 minutes.
