The Sanctuary Initiative Summit is a one-day, high-impact training designed to help churches and community organizations prepare, welcome, and support neurodivergent children, teens, and adults with dignity, safety, and compassion.Created by The Village under The Shirlette Collective, the Summit provides clear, practical frameworks for building more inclusive and accessible environments, spaces where all bodies, all minds, and all needs are respected and supported.
This program was built from lived experience: a mother designing the world she wished existed for her autistic son. Since it didn’t exist, she created it.
Across this immersive session, attendees will learn how to structure neurodivergent-affirming ministries, develop sensory-safe systems, support families, and train volunteer teams to reduce unintentional harm. Participants will leave with tools, templates, and a clear pathway toward implementing the Sanctuary Initiative model within their own organizations.
The Sanctuary Initiative Summit is offered at no cost. All registration donations directly support accessibility materials, sensory supports, translation services, and the continued growth of this program.
