Peter Threlfall examines the actions of the Royal Naval Division's in taking the heavily defended village of Gavrelle, just north of Arras, on 23rd April 1917. He will also discuss the personal cost that the battle had for his own family.Peter is our Branch Chairman. His interest in military history, and specifically the First World War stems from childhood. His talks are always well planned and crammed with fascinating information.
Why not come along and find out more? Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Anyone new to our group is guaranteed a friendly atmosphere, and a warm welcome over a cuppa. Parking is free, but we ask visitors for a small donation of £4 to cover room hire and speakers’ expenses.
