--------
Join us for a half-day event focused on affordable housing access and cost reduction through innovative transportation strategies. The event will cover how reducing parking ratios can lower construction costs and encourage transit use by providing tenants with transit passes instead of parking spaces. It will also explore effective Transportation Demand Management strategies for new affordable housing developments.
In addition to transit passes, the event will discuss promoting walking and biking as sustainable and healthy alternatives to driving. We will look at ways to integrate bike-sharing programs and develop safe, walkable communities that reduce reliance on cars. Furthermore, we will explore other shared transportation options, such as carpooling and ride-sharing services, which can provide flexible and cost-effective solutions for residents. By incorporating these strategies, new affordable housing developments can become more accessible, less costly, and environmentally friendly.
