A Trauma‑Informed Whole-Body Awareness Workshop for Inner Child Healing


This 4.5-hour in-person workshop offers a trauma-informed, embodied approach to inner child healing designed to help restore safety in the body, release emotional weight, and reconnect with your authentic sense of self.

Many of us learned to disconnect from our bodies, emotions, and sense of play at a very young age, not because something was wrong with us, but because our nervous system was doing its best to keep us safe. Over time, that disconnection can leave us feeling guarded, disconnected from our truth, or unsure how to fully come home to ourselves.

Many people have spent years trying to “fix” themselves without realizing that what the body often needs most is not more effort, but a new experience of safety.

Inner child healing is not about reliving the past. It is about meeting those younger parts of ourselves in the present, with the safety, awareness, and capacity we have now. When the body experiences safety now, stored emotions can release, the nervous system can regulate, and connection can return naturally — without force or pressure.

When these younger parts feel seen and supported, something important begins to shift. The nervous system no longer needs to stay on constant alert, and the body can begin to trust safety again.

As safety increases, many people begin to notice changes in everyday life — clearer boundaries, more authentic self-expression, less reactivity to triggers, and a renewed sense of curiosity, play, and creativity.

Inner child healing is not about fixing what is broken. It is about allowing the parts of you that adapted for survival to finally experience support, compassion, and integration.

Healing does not only happen through understanding the past. The nervous system rewires most effectively through new experiences of safety, connection, and play in the present moment.

This workshop focuses on creating those new embodied experiences so the body can begin updating old survival patterns naturally.

The Return to Self creates a safe, supportive container to gently reconnect with these parts of yourself and release emotional and physical weight that no longer needs to be carried.

This workshop is facilitated by Jenna, founder of My Awakening Within, whose work focuses on nervous system safety, embodied healing, and reconnecting people with their authentic selves through grounded experiential practices.

Her approach has been shaped through years of personal healing, including her own recovery from PTSD, where she developed and embodied intuitive tools that support nervous system regulation, emotional integration, and authentic self-connection.

Jenna has also spent several years immersed in deep consciousness-based practice, developing the ability to hold clear presence and reflect awareness for the people she works with.

This work informs her facilitation style, which emphasizes grounded presence, safety, and authentic connection.This combination of embodied healing and consciousness awareness allows her to guide participants through experiences that support emotional integration and deeper self-connection.

Subtle energetic support and sound are woven throughout the workshop to help the body relax, settle, and integrate the experience.

Through heart-centered cacao, grounding practices, somatic full-body awareness, sound and energetic support, witnessed vulnerability, mirror work, symbolic and physical release, and play-based integration, participants are invited to meet themselves with compassion rather than performance or fixing. The cacao offered in this workshop is optional and used as a gentle heart-centering support to help participants stay present and connected to themselves during the experience.

Play is also intentionally included in the experience. Play is one of the body’s natural pathways for nervous system repair. When the inner child feels safe enough to explore, move, laugh, and connect, the nervous system begins to relearn that life does not have to be lived only in protection mode.

Time is intentionally built in for grounding, hydration, and nervous-system integration throughout the workshop. The workshop is facilitated with a focus on presence, consent, and embodied safety rather than analysis, advice, or “doing it right.”

This experience is for those who have tried many approaches and still feel disconnected, guarded, or unsure how to truly return to their inner truth.

The workshop moves gradually from grounding and understanding into gentle experiential practices, allowing the nervous system to feel supported every step of the way.

All practices are invitational and adaptable. Participants are always welcome to observe rather than participate in any exercise.

How the Experience Unfolds

Participants are gently guided through a series of experiences designed to support nervous system safety and embodied integration, including:

  • Heart-centered cacao opening
  • Grounding and nervous system awareness tools
  • Embodied awareness practices
  • A guided embodied exercise that physically represents the emotional weight we carry — followed by a symbolic release to help the body experience what letting go can actually feel like in real time
  • Mirror work for self‑connection and inner repair
  • Witnessed relational sharing that teaches the nervous system it is safe to be seen, heard, and received without judgment or fixing
  • A guided resting integration experience to allow the nervous system to settle and absorb the shifts created during the workshop
  • Play-based movement and expression to help the nervous system reconnect with curiosity, creativity, and joy
  • A closing integration and take‑home safety anchor

All practices are choice‑based. You are always in control of your pace and level of participation.

The Return to Self is not about becoming someone new.

It is about gently creating enough safety within the body for the parts of you that have always been there to finally be welcomed home.

Because this work is experiential and relational, space is intentionally limited so each participant can feel supported throughout the experience.

Please eat a nourishing meal before arriving. This workshop includes light snacks and hydration but does not include a full meal.
