Before the world changed in 2020, Kinematic’s annual Christmas show was a regular on their gig calendar and fast becoming a fan favourite. These fam-friendly show often saw Kinematic curate a bill that put a full stop on the year that was, inviting their fave local musical besties along for the ride. In the resurrected 2025 Christmas show - believe it ir not, our 12th - Kinematic will be joined by a bunch of artists they’ve played with in 2025 to help them celebrate, and all for a good cause - to raise money for the Anna Wearne Trust to help disadvantaged kids in their education.On the afternoon of Saturday 6 December, Kinematic will take over the Edinburgh Castle’s front bar for this special show. As we always do at the EC, we’ll play two sets, but joined throughout by artists like Almost Isabella, David Hosking & Sarah Liversidge, Gerard Daley, Mark Sinton, Ryan Sterling, Simon Dodd and Tim Reid - it's a Melbourne music extravaganza!
And as always at the EC, entry will be free - but we’ll be setting up a pot and encouraging everyone to harness their Christmas spirit and donate to the trust. We and every artist playing on the day is donating their playing fees to the trust.
After a long break, this will be our last Melbourne show for 2025 - in more ways than one, one of the best years and hardest years Kinematic has ever had. We can't wait to see everyone!
