The Regenerating Soil and Community (RSC) Project is a unique partnership between the Winneshiek County Soil and Water Conservation District, Northeast Iowa RC&D, local watershed coordinators, and Luther College that seeks to support area landowners and farmers interested in expanding their knowledge of soil health and regenerative farming practices.Local landowners and farmers are invited to an informational session on April 1st or 2nd to meet members of the RSC project team and past Cohort members, learn about RSC project activities and outcomes, and express potential interest in becoming a 2026 participant.
Offerings to Summer 2026 Cohort:
- Free soil sampling and testing
- In-depth interviews to learn interests and needs
- Educational sessions and strengths-based workshops
- Connection and community with small cohort of project participants
- Engagement with enthusiastic students and dedicated soil health professionals
- Technical expertise and financial support for conservation plans

Project funding supports women owners/co-owners/operators, beginning farmers, socially disadvantaged, veterans, and/or those with limited resources, that are within a 25-mile radius of Decorah.
