About this Event
The Reclamation Project: A Mental Health Experience for Black Men
Presented by the Morehouse NYC Alumni Association
Join the Morehouse NYC Alumni Association for The Reclamation Project, a transformative mental health experience created to center, uplift, and support Black men in our community.
Held in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, 2026, this gathering aligns with the global theme “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”—a call to move beyond silence and stigma toward openness, healing, and collective care.
This experience is designed to create a brave and affirming space where Black men can reclaim their stories, prioritize their mental well-being, and engage in meaningful dialogue about emotional health, vulnerability, and resilience.
What to Expect
- Guided conversations and storytelling centered on mental health and identity
- Interactive wellness experiences and grounding practices
- Community-building with brothers, allies, and mental health advocates
- Access to culturally competent resources and support networks
Why This Matters
Suicide remains a leading and preventable cause of death worldwide, and World Suicide Prevention Day serves as a reminder that awareness, education, and open dialogue can save lives.
For Black men—who often navigate unique cultural, social, and systemic pressures—creating intentional spaces for healing and connection is essential.
Our Commitment
The Reclamation Project is more than an event—it’s a movement toward:
- Breaking stigma around mental health in Black communities
- Encouraging honest, compassionate conversations
- Empowering individuals to seek support and support others
Together, we reclaim our narratives, our wellness, and our lives.
