The BIG ONE is back on March 21 – and we're not kidding around!
You know our weekly marketplace? Picture that in EVERY room of the building. Mountains of free clothes, household goods, toys, books, furniture—everywhere you look. It's like Black Friday, except everything's FREE.
Walk in and take what you need. No explaining. No proving anything. No money. Just neighbors caring for neighbors.
This free community event happens three times a year now – we've grown so much! One Saturday morning. Three hours. Blink and you'll miss The Big One.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
Market Day: Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W 1100 N, Chesterton, IN
Parking reminder: No parking on 1100 N – stick to the church lot and side streets!

NEW THIS YEAR – HEADS UP, FOLKS:
- No wagons or shopping carts allowed in the building (safety codes don't mess around!)
- One-way traffic through the building – enter at one end, browse your way through all the rooms, and exit at the other end. No turning around and swimming upstream against the crowd!
- All children must be with an adult – we love the kiddos, but they need their grown-ups
WHAT IS THE REALLY FREE MARKET?
It's a community event where EVERYTHING IS FREE! No money is used, no trading, just giving and taking. It's like the world's best garage sale, except your neighbors already did the pricing for you: $0.00 on everything.
Come look through clothes, household items, toys, books, and more—all free to take home. Take what you need for you and your family – this is about neighbors helping neighbors, not restocking for resale. We're all about the personal touch here...no catches, no costs, no kidding.
DONATE TO THE BIG ONE:
Spring cleaning time! Time to Marie Kondo those closets, attics, and garages. Your gently used items can spark joy in a neighbor who needs them.
Donation Schedule:
Through February 26: Regular donation times are Monday 4pm-6pm, Wednesday 5pm-7pm, Thursday 10am-12pm
March 2-5: Special pre-event hours Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm, plus Wednesday 5pm-7pm
No donations accepted after March 5 – we need time for sorting, setup, and the inevitable "where does this go?" discussions
Donations resume April 13 with new hours: Mondays 10am-1pm and Wednesdays 4pm-7pm
WANT TO HELP MAKE THE MAGIC HAPPEN?
We start setting up Monday, March 16 at 9am. Warning: you might break a sweat moving donations, setting up tables, and playing "extreme closet Tetris" with clothing displays. Clean-up crew assembles right after the event ends at noon – because somebody's got to put this beautiful chaos back together!
