The Civil War is in its third summer. General Lee is launching his second invasion into the North. General Meade has been placed in charge of the Union Army to stop him. All eyes are these two armies for the fate of a nation. Come join The 19th Century Researchers and Civil War Historical Impressions as we recreate this crucial hour in our country's history, this June 27th and 28th, 2026! This summer we are recreating the 13th North Carolina as they marched through Waynesboro with high spirits after coming off a successful campaign at Chancellorsville. These moments leading up to Gettysburg will be recreated with marching, camps, and interactive points for the public to explore. Our Federal contingent will be recreating the Federal forces posted near Gettysburg to show the struggles of what our nation and armies endured during these hard times.
Tickets for each historical presentation will be offered to ensure a spot in the Wagon Shed Room (limit of 35 attendees). Camp visits and drill demonstrations are free to the public to come visit and witness each sides perspective on these crucial days. Feel free to walk the grounds enjoy our history as a community and see it as they would have in 1863!
Camps will be in separate locations on the Renfrew grounds to immerse our participants and encourage visitors to interact with participants across our site. Camps will also have displays of equipment for in-depth lessons on material culture and life during the period. Civilians will inhabit the Fahnestock House complex and the Summer Kitchen.
This unique experience is FAMILY FRIENDLY so everyone can enjoy learning and are able to grown an appreciation for the men and woman who came before us!
