Who fancies a Spring Equinox celebration? When's that? Saturday 21st March.
Where's that? Pathhead Farm, cafe and events.
What's happening? The Quiggs are coming to Kirrie.
Why? Well why wouldn't you want to celebrate the days being longer than the nights?
Funnily enough, the last time I heard The Quiggs (at Inchture Folk Nights) they sang a song from their latest album "Shooting Star" that really struck a chord with me. I don't know why, (apart from being a great song sung spectacularly well I've never analysed why some songs and tunes do that to me) but it did. It's a Jimmy McCarthy song "There is no Night". The chorus goes:
"The more I know, the more I wonder
From the setting of the sun to the dawning of the day
And the questions to be asked are beyond number
Only this much for certain I can say
There is no night but longing for the day".
C'mon doon, it'll be grand.
