About this Event
Four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue… and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. On a mission to make a difference, the Broadway stars team up with the courageous student, leading to a transformation that brings everyone together in the name of love and acceptance.
There will be one 15-minute intermission.
The Prom is a modern musical comedy that tells the story of a small-town community grappling with issues of love, acceptance, and change. At its heart, it celebrates the power of being true to oneself and the importance of inclusion. The Prom show addresses real-world challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, including moments of homophobia, and it uses occasional strong language to reflect the authenticity of its characters’ experiences. We recognize that these themes may be sensitive for some audience members. They are presented thoughtfully and with the purpose of promoting empathy, understanding, and joy. We acknowledge that parental discretion may be needed, but please be assured that they remain aligned with St. George’s values of respectful creative expression. We hope you enjoy the show!
