The Profession of Interior Design; A Conversation About Commercial Interior Design Legislation

Our panelists, Stacey Crumbaker, Emily Moses, and Sarah Larson, will be discussing the importance of Commercial Interior Design legislation, the current laws around Commercial Interior Design practice, the limitations our industry faces, the doors legislation will open, the path to legislation, and what it means for Commercial Interior Designers practicing in Washington State.


Sarah's Bio:

Sarah Larson, a Senior Interior Designer and Senior Associate at SRG Partnership, offers a wealth of experience spanning over 12 years. In the past she has been the VP of Advocacy for the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter, where she focused on rebuilding and starting the new advocacy moments in our chapter alongside a dedicated Advocacy team. She currently serves as the President of the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter, a role that reflects her commitment to advancing the Interior Design profession and fostering industry collaboration.


Emily's Bio:

Emily works at MillerKnoll focuses on elevating the experience of employees and patients.

She holds a Master of Arts in Interior Design, and practiced at Burgess Design, SkB Architects, and NBBJ. For the last 10 years she has worked as a Workplace Consultant and Business Development Manager providing clients with research application, cultural space intervention strategy, furniture planning, occupancy performance analysis, and hybrid workplace integration.


Stacey's Bio:

Practicing at the intersection of architecture and interiors, Crumbaker brings a unique perspective and expertise to the design of educational facilities. With more than 15 years of experience, she has cultivated her practice as a response to human experience and deeply believes in design's ability to shape community. Crumbaker was one of five nationwide recipients awarded the 2020 AIA Associates Award. This award is given to Associate AIA members who are outstanding leaders and creative thinkers; recognizing their significant contributions to their communities and the architecture profession. Crumbraker received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University.
