We’re so delighted to be joining the Foggy Bottom FRESHFARM Market in 2024! The market is located across from GWU, next door to the GW hospital, the Foggy Bottom Metro and the GW medical school. Our stand is located halfway down the row of vendors. Look for the giant red pretzel flag! We specialize in authentic, Bavarian-style soft pretzels! Daniela (owner) learned to make her special pretzels using a generations old recipe in the Tyrolean Alps as a small child. Her Italian mother and Austrian Omama (‘grandmother) were born and raised there. All of our pretzels are hand rolled, hand twisted, hand dipped and baked in small batches using centuries old, European artisanal techniques. They really are the best most authentic and best tasting pretzels you will eat on this side of the Atlantic!
We use only all-natural ingredients: our signature blend of locally milled, unbleached and non-GMO flours, Diastatic Malt, butter made in house or locally sourced, yeast, salt and water. That’s it! We DO NOT use eggs/egg wash in our pretzels. By custom order, we can swap out the butter for oil to make your pretzels dairy free and vegan.
Every week, we’ll have hot, baked fresh daily pretzel twists, bagels, rolls, baguettes, bites, pretzel dogs, beer cheese and a variety of dipping sauces. In a few weeks, we will be adding our stuffed pretzels (savory and sweet) and our naked/flavored pretzel chips to the menu as well!
Pre-paid pre-orders must be submitted by Sunday before each Wednesday market. Pick up is at the market on Wednesdays from 2-6pm. We are working on adding a delivery option within a 2 block radius around the market by February. Please text 301-639-5554 to place your order. In a few weeks, we will have our new website online and you can place your order there.
