Join us for a fun, informal look at getting started with The Power of Connection toolkit, building stronger communities through volunteering from Belong - The Cohesion and Integration Network.
This event is suitable for anyone who provides, supports or funds volunteering opportunities. We'll take a look through the toolkit, give helpful tips and advice on how to use it and embed it within your organisation and help you get started. Please note that although this event runs from 10.30 - 12.00 it is not compulsory to stay for the full 1.5 hours - the final 30 minutes of this event are a practical session on the toolkit for those who would like assistance.
By the end you should have a good understanding of how the toolkit works, the principles and Theory of Change underpinning it, and some ideas of how you'll be able to take it forward within your own organisation. It's also a chance to meet and connect with others supporting volunteers around the UK, share ideas and build your professional network.
Following the workshop you'll be able to work through the modules of The Toolkit at your own pace, building a bespoke plan tailored to your organisation, location and cause that provides volunteering opportunities to break down barriers and increase inclusion among under-represented groups. It's also a way to build the wider resilience of the communities your organisation serves. It's a win-win!
The workshop will be lead by Belong Network's Research and Development Manager Dr Jeni Vine, a highly experienced researcher and community activist who brings more than 25 years' experience in the not-for-profit sector.
