About this Event
Are you ready to learn how young people can shape the future of democracy?
Join us for an interactive civic engagement workshop designed for middle and high school students in Central New Jersey. This engaging program will introduce students to the power of advocacy, youth leadership, and the growing movement to expand voting rights for young people.
Through dynamic discussions and hands-on activities, participants will explore the Vote16 movement—an initiative that encourages lowering the voting age to 16 for local elections. Students will also learn how Newark became the first city in New Jersey to lower the voting age to 16 for school board elections, creating new opportunities for youth voices to influence decisions that directly impact their education and communities.
This workshop will help students understand how change happens and how they can become advocates for civic participation in their own communities.
