The Authors

Alechia Dow is a former pastry chef and librarian. She is the author of YA novels The Sound of Stars, The Kindred, A Song of Salvation, and Until the Clock Strikes Midnight, and middle-grade novel Just a Pinch of Magic. When not writing, you can find her having epic dance parties with her daughter, baking, reading, or taking teeny adventures.

Caroline Bonin writes books about big, magical feelings and girls who glow in the dark. She studied the Irish harp and creative writing at Oberlin College, and received a master’s degree in digital marketing from Arizona State University online. After college, she worked as a barista in various cafes and fell in love with the craft but now works for a marketing agency. When not writing or reading, you can find her playing video games, lifting weights, hiking, sewing, or exploring local coffee shops. She lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her partner and our three cats: Poptart, Nightingale, and Laura Bailey. A Barista’s Guide to Love & Larceny is her debut novel.

S.G. Prince is a character-driven SFF author who writes about magic, found family, and love. She was born in Ohio, spent a few childhood years in Missouri, grew up in Florida, and has since lived in Fort Worth, Seattle, San Francisco and now the East Bay. She bakes sourdough on Wednesdays and dessert on Fridays. Her favorite words are always, surrender, and headlong.

Petra Lord is a biracial trans author. She has a BFA in TV Writing from New York University, which she uses to recommend TV shows to her parents and predict the endings of movies. She's currently based in Los Angeles, where she feeds her dual addictions to hot pot and Korean barbecue and sustains herself off videos of her cat. Queen of Faces is her debut novel. Follow her on Instagram.

The Moderator

Becca Coffindaffer (they/any) grew up on Star Wars, Star Trek, fantastical movies, and even more fantastical books. As a kid, they started scribbling stories in weathered, well-loved spiral notebooks, and now they write books about magic and politics, spaceships, imaginary worlds, and people walking away from explosions in slow motion. These days, they live in Kansas with their family, surrounded by a lot of books, a lot of video games, and two very spoiled dogs. They’re the author of the CROWNCHASERS duology and THE BLOODY AND THE DAMNED, as well as short stories in MERMAIDS NEVER DROWN and CRITICAL ROLE: STORIES UNTOLD.

Please Note: There are no refunds for this event. If you are unable to attend, your book will be available for pickup at the shop the following day. If you are not local, we'll be happy to mail it to you. Thank you for your support!
