Step through the Portal.. where time is an illusion! Travel back to the Victorian age of Main Street Woodland California when entrepreneurs ruled and gold won the west!
The Portal Marketplace and Extravaganza showcases four spectacular business and highlights some amazing small business vendors.
The Portal has four distinct and special components for you to enjoy:
1: Handmade vendors. Each of the four stops on the route will feature handmade small businesses.Some will be even crafting LIVE for you!
2. An exciting GHOST tour (additional fee for this part) of the four buildings and the area. This is a walking tour of the outside of each building, sign ups for the tour are at Noon at Soul Garden Holistic Healing 521 Main Street.
3. Live entertainment! We have several musicians playing historic music from a harpist, to a real Barbershop Quartet to a traditional Irish band! Something for everyone! We also have professional clown Richy Bee performing for the kids and adults to enjoy!!
4. Spiritual practitioners: you can sign up for a tarot reading, at Soul Garden Holistic healing and at The Stag. Costs vary for these services and sign ups are limited. We recommend signing up at event open at noon!
Cost to attend is FREE TO THE PUBLIC and all ages are welcome!
We ENCOURAGE Victorian era dress, as it will make our event MORE immersive! (Think the Titanic film, or Disney Haunted Mansion or the Dickens’s Fair for inspiration.)
The event will begin at 1pm. A hostess located at Soul Garden (521 Main Street) will greet you and give you a map and schedule.
You can show up at any time during the day and find fun and entertainment!!!
The following sponsoring businesses will be participating in the following ways:
1.Mojo’s Lounge: 428 1st st. Two levels of amazing vendors (upstairs accessible by the elevator or stairs!) aEdgar Allan Poe pop up features themed cocktails and bites, a history talk about the Woodland train depot presented by Sacramento Author and historian, William Burg! Also an appearance with our Barbershop quartet! Upper deck and patio are full of handmade and art vendors!
2. Soul Garden Holistic Healing: 521 Main Street. Offering live craft demonstrations in the back of the building including a real Blacksmith! Tarot and sound healing, sign up and payment required. Live music by harpist Sandra Fromm. Art Vendors. Host to our ghost tour. (Payments and sign up at noon)
3. The Corner Drug: 602 Main Street. Musical performances at one and at two, Richy Bee the Clown! Also a stop on our ghost tour! One of Woodlands OLDEST businesses!
4. The Stag: 506 Main Street: A haunted Saloon and delicious watering hole! Inside only open to 21 and up guests. Snack vendor, art vendors, live music, after party with Traditional Irish Band Lions of North starting at 7pm!
Absolutely something for everyone! Turn back time and experience the history, the fun and the spirit that lives on in historic downtown Woodland!
