This workshop brings the two sisters of memoir and poetry together. Team taught by a poet and a memoirist, you will learn how to take poetic ideas and images and craft them into stories with attention to the strengths of both genres; lyricism and plot, visual imagery and pacing, emotional depth and engaging personal storytelling.Kim Foster is a James Beard Award-winning food writer. Her book, The Meth Lunches: Food + Longing in an American City, with St. Martin's Press is about food at the intersection of mental illness, family separation, poverty, addiction, trauma, and incarceration.
Friday Night Writes is hosted by Clark County Poet Laureate Angela M. Brommel as part of her poetry for resilience program.
