Hello!
We're so glad you have found us. We're making space for poetry; for people who write it, listen to it and/or who are curious about it.
We are once again taking The Poetry Lounge on tour and popping up at the wonderful Against the Grain taproom and cidery in Summerstown, Tooting. Please note the closest tube station is Tooting Broadway (20 min walk or 10 min bus) and train station is Haydons Road, Thameslink service (14 min walk).
How does The Poetry Lounge work?
Most of the night is an open mic space, with slots available for poets to share their work. Each slot is 5 minutes and is for you and your work. If you'd like to perform please choose an 'open mic perfomer' ticket at the check out. We would like to hear from new and experienced writers and performers. If it's your first time performing anywhere, we will make sure you feel supported!
Of equal importance to poets, are people who listen! Aka our audience. If you're joining to listen please select an 'audience' ticket at the check out.
Saving the best 'til last, the final section of the evening will bear witness to our monthly limerick slam. Expect fun, filth and everything in-between.
An important note on venue accessibility
Unfortunately this venue is not wheelchair accessible. This is due to a step at the front entrance and no wheelchair accessible toilet onsite.
