Chez Pond
Growing up in the countryside of eastern Kansas, singer/songwriter Skeeter Pines would spend countless hours plucking a guitar by a pond in the woods behind his home with a symphony of birds, cicadas, and frogs accompanying him. The name, Chez Pond, pays tribute to the idea that music creates community and family, with chez meaning “in the home of” and pond representing a community where all creatures are welcome to revitalize themselves through shared drinks, repasts, and songs. Chez Pond formed in Brightwood Park in 2022 when several friends from Washington D.C.’s open mic scene banded together to play original music. Chez Pond features DC musical stalwarts John Heinze on drums, Adam Edwards on bass, Matt Lawrence on Mandolin, Jasper Hobbs on saxophone, and Chris Plog on lead guitar. Chez Pond will be playing blues-tinged rock n' roll and ethereal love songs from their unreleased debut album, Heartplunger.

Safety Bear
Safety Bear is an independent Hi-NRG electronic artist who weaves together pulsing dance beats and immersive atmospheres with subject matter typically alien to the dance floor. Safety Bear’s energetic live performances and studio recordings deliver original Hi-NRG bangers (and the occasional re-imagined dance classic) via the intriguing guise of a neurotic (and slightly injured) teddy bear. The injured ear, as of yet, remains unexplained.
Safety Bear tracks have been remixed by Nate Lanzino, Lane Young, Chinedu Onome, and Sanity Assassin. Safety Bear EP-02 and EP-03 are produced by Steve Wright (Future Islands / Pigeons Playing Ping Pong). Safety Bear EP-04 and EP-05 are produced by Ian Shaw (Bikini K*ll / Nick Heyward). To date, Safety Bear has performed in major U.S. cities including New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Key West, and also in London, England. Local festivals have included the Fort Reno Summer Concert Series and Capitol Pride Celebration.

Sid Satellite
Originally born in Nepal, Sid Satellite discovered rock n' roll music after having his first panic/anxiety attack as a 12-year-old and it has been a dear healing friend ever since. At 13, Sid moved to Beijing, China where he bought his first guitar and started crafting songs. Sid Satellite currently plays in a rock n' roll duo: 'Liability' in D.C.

Astrachan
Astrachan is the solo project and surname of curly-haired indie-rock beefcake Ben Astrachan, a self-taught analog tapehead who conjures up his special blend of starry-eyed lo-fi folk-rock in the candlelit haze of Puccini’s Studio (Astrachan’s basement bedroom/workspace named after his cat) on Chicago’s northwest side. Apostle to old masters like Cat Stevens and George Harrison, Astrachan is nonetheless an avatar of indie’s modern sound, drawing inspiration from contemporaries like Hovvdy and MJ Lenderman to thread together short-and-sweet psych-inflected tunes at once accessible and strange.
Astrachan is also the co-founder of Berta Bigtoe (with Austin Koenigstein) and Astro Heart (with Ryan Gebhardt), and a tireless accomplice to fellow travelers Smushie, No Lonesome (etc), brightening stages across Chicago with his golden voice, polytechnic abilities, and good-natured boyish charm. The forthcoming LP Cleaner than Clean, self-produced and recorded directly to tape in Puccini’s Studio, is slated for release on Happen Twice in July.
