About this Event
This February, Rediscover Center and The Pit are kicking off an exciting new collaboration that will culminate in a two-month summer takeover of The Pit as a Rediscover Pop-Up Maker Center for youth and families across Northeast Los Angeles.
To celebrate, we are hosting a Handmade Open House—a free crafting day that previews the kinds of creative, collaborative experiences Rediscover offers.
Families are invited to drop in for Valentine crafting, collaborative art-making, and short demonstrations led by Rediscover teaching artists. Activities are designed for all ages and focus on creativity, problem-solving, and making with simple, sustainable materials.
Throughout the event, Rediscover staff will be available to share information about summer camps, scholarships, and sliding-scale access, and to answer questions about upcoming programs.
This Open House is a chance to experience how a contemporary art gallery can become a space for play, learning, and community—welcoming artists as young as five into the creative process.
