The Piragons are a John Holt Tribute Band, based In Birmingham, consisting of 8 great musicians.Their unique blend of musicians does wonderful work for this tribute to a legendary pioneer of reggae music. The Piragons bring the music of this Iconic reggae artist to the stage “Keeping the Volts in Holt”.
Many bands have covered his songs, including UB40 (Wear You To The Ball/Homely Girl/My Best Girl/I Want a Love I Can Feel/Stick By Me), Dennis Brown (Smiling Face/Ali Baba), Blondie and Atomic Kitten (Tide is High).
John Holt was well known for his cover versions of songs from bands such as the Beatles (I Will & Hey Jude), Kris Kristofferson (Help Me Make It Through The Night), The Bee Gees (Morning Of My Life) Jerry Jeff Walker (Mr Bojangles) Lori Lieberman (Killing me softly) and Diana Ross (Touch me in the morning).
John Holt was one of the greatest artists in reggae music with over 30 years in music, he released 40 albums worldwide.
The band perform at least 25 John Holt songs including those when he was with The Paragons and his “Dusty Roads”, “1000 volts of Holt” and “The Further You Look”.
