About this Event
Monitoring and evaluation helps organisations track performance, measure impact and use learning to improve services, demonstrate value and strengthen accountability to funders and stakeholders.
This workshop provides a practical introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), supporting participants to understand why M&E matters, what funders expect, and how to design proportionate, useful frameworks. Through a mix of input, discussion and hands-on activities, participants explore core concepts such as outcomes, indicators, theory of change, and data collection methods. The session focuses on building confidence to use M&E not just for accountability, but as a tool for learning, improvement and better decision-making.
Intended Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Understand the purpose and value of Monitoring and Evaluation, including typical funder expectations
- Be able to distinguish between monitoring and evaluation, and between outputs, outcomes and impact
- Clearly articulate programme goals and outcomes using a theory of change or logic model
- Identify appropriate indicators and data collection methods aligned to outcomes
- Develop an outline, proportionate M&E framework or plan for their own work
- Feel more confident using M&E evidence to reflect, learn, communicate impact and inform future decisions.
