Two classic Hepburn movies! Roman Holiday featuring Audrey and The Philadelphia Story with Katharine. The Philadelphia Story:
After being labelled as “box office poison” in 1939, Katharine Hepburn personally bought the rights to the Broadway play in which she was then starring and brought it to the screen, winning the Best Picture Oscar of 1940. A “comedy of remarriage” also starring Cary Grant and James Stewart, it was remade as the musical “High Society” in 1956. With a witty script, superb direction by George Cukor and superlative lead performances it remains a funny and entertaining film today. The movie will be preceded by a short introduction.
