Everyone Gets a Seat at the Table! The People’s Potluck will take place on April 18th from 1–4 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 2nd floor, on the corner of Woodward and E. Adams in Detroit!
The Riverwise Collective has partnered with Y-VAC (Young Voices Action Collective), BYP100 Detroit, The Grand River Community Block Club, Asemblea Popular Detroit Peoples Assembly, and COS Press Network to bring you The People’s Potluck!
Join us for an afternoon of community care and safety! We’ll break bread together as we hear from local poets, make zines, make art with @keneegokeshekstudio, enjoy music, and learn about ways to keep each other safe.
Bring a dish (with all ingredients noted) if you can, and please bring anyone who could use shelf-stable food, blankets, personal hygiene items, Diapers, or new socks.
Donations will be accepted at the event. We are putting together a list of donation drop of sites throughout Detroit and will post them soon so you can drop off donations ahead of time. We will be collecting shelf-stable foods, diapers, wipes, personal hygiene products, new socks, and gently used or new blankets for our free store.
We’ll have Riverwise Magazines, social justice publications, zines, and stickers for you to take home as well!
If you have any questions, would like to share your talents (music, poetry, etc.), or would like to contribute in any way, please contact Valerie Jean at 313-704-5150.
We look forward to being in community with you!
Please invite your family, your neighbors, and your people. Let’s care for each other, build a culture of mutual aid, and keep each other safe!
WE GOT US!
