About this Event
The Pause: An Immersive Half Day Experience in the New Forest
Most of us spend much of our lives in a state of doing; responding to messages, meeting deadlines, juggling responsibilities and staying constantly connected.
So when the working day ends and it’s finally time to rest, it can be deeply frustrating to discover that your mind is still racing.
Your body may be at home, but your thoughts are still at work.
Many people experience this as the feeling of being “tired but wired”, where the body wants to slow down but the nervous system is still stuck in “on mode”.
The Pause is a small-group, half-day experience designed to help you step out of that constant state of busyness and reconnect with a calmer, more settled rhythm.
Set in the peaceful surroundings of the New Forest, this session offers a gentle space to slow down, learn about how your nervous system works, and experience simple embodied practices that support your body to shift into a state where true rest is accessible.
During the session you will be guided through a blend of education, gentle practices and time in nature.
You’ll learn why it can be so difficult to switch off — and more importantly, practical ways to support your nervous system so that downtime becomes more restorative and you feel more resilient to the demands of daily life.
The experience will include:
• An introduction to how the nervous system works
• Guided embodied practices to help settle the body and mind
• Practices that can be integrated into everyday life to support you in the long term
• Time outdoors in the forest environment (weather permitting)
• A safe, supportive small-group setting with like-minded people
This is not about pushing yourself or doing more.
It’s about allowing your system the space and support it needs to slow down.
