About this Event
The SAMO Fund Field Institute invites you to The Path of Water. Join us on a journey through the heart of Malibu Creek State Park where nature, history, and discovery flow together.
Explore the Malibu Creek Watershed as we uncover the story of the iconic Rindge Dam and its 100-year impact on the landscape. Through guided exploration and conversation, youโll learn how water shapes this ecosystem and how you can be part of protecting it for the future.
Come curious, leave inspired, and reconnect with the flow of nature!
Together, weโll explore:
- How water shapes landscapes over time
- The consequences of controlling rivers
- What restoration really looks like in practice
Weโll then walk through the creek corridor to the rock pools, where participants can:
- Observe the living system up close
- Engage in informal discussion with experts
- (Optional) contribute to light stewardship efforts
We will meet at:
The bathrooms in the main trailhead and start at the picnic tables right near the bathrooms or under that large oak tree that is visible from the bathroom.
