Esteemed author Anthony Walton will build off his recent book "The End of Respectability: Notes of a Black American Reckoning with His Life and His Country."
Book Description
American Blacks are entering a new phase in the struggle against white supremacy. Standing firmly in the African American tradition, Walton believes in the possibility of reconciliation with those whites who desire it, offering a hand of friendship and pragmatic ideas for paths forward.
Speaker Biography
Anthony Walton is an acclaimed poet and essayist, as well as the editor and author of several books, including "Brothers in Arms: The Epic Story of the 761st Tank Battalion," which he co-wrote with NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and "Mississippi: An American Journey."
Walton’s poems and essays have also appeared in numerous magazines, journals, and anthologies, including The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and the Oxford American.
Walton is a professor at Bowdoin College.
