Chronicling the trial and final hours leading up to her execution for heresy, Dreyerโs experimental approach with expressionistic lighting and intimate close-ups is a master stroke of cinema. Renรฉe Falconettiโs resilient and haunted performance as Joan is one of the most powerful portrayals of the human spirit ever captured on film. Thought to have been lost to a fire, the filmโs original version was miraculously found in perfect condition in 1981. Silent w/ live accompaniment.
