Our Public Lecture Series continues with Dr Theresa Vella (Curatorial Studio) who will focus on the incredible collection of paintings in the Jesuits' Church. With paintings by Renaissance and Baroque masters ranging from Filippo Paladini to Mattia Preti, the Jesuits' Church can be regarded as an art gallery with a historic collection, with the
added enhancement provided by the surrounding architecture. However, the aesthetics of these works of art form part of a longer history of religious piety and patronage, as has befitted the function of a church building for over four centuries.
Entrance to the lecture is FREE but donations are welcome.
Access to the Oratories is from Archbishop Street.
