When Dot Fisher-Smith witnessed a brutal M**der at a remote lake in Northern California and was forced to spend a day with the killer, she endured not through force, but through presence—through a radical calm that refused violence. More than five decades later, she offers this story as both testimony and a living expression of nonviolence.
A poet, artist, and nonviolent activist, Dot was also a primary member of the small, volunteer team that brought this film into being.
Created with deep care and devotion, this work is offered in reverence. Dot passed away on January 29, 2026, just before she could stand before an audience to share this story in her own voice—something she deeply looked forward to.
