Join James Carberry and Tim Edmonds from Simply Energy as they explore why demand-side flexibility is essential to New Zealand's energy transition. Keeping electricity supply and demand balanced 24 hours a day is critical to system stability, but as more intermittent renewables like wind and solar enter the system, we can no longer rely solely on adjusting power station output.
This session digs into the growing role of demand-side flexibility, where consumers use technology and incentives to shift their electricity use to support the supply-demand balance, unlock electrification projects, and enable a more resilient energy future for New Zealand.
