THE NICO DITCH PRESENTS: PADDY STEER + SUPPORT FROM SISTER MONICA AND THE ALIEN.
1st MAY 2026. £9adv/£13otd
Paddy Steer is one of Manchester's mavericks. His analogue synth based, other worldly, alien alter-ego cosmic drumming is iconic and has earned him a cult following within the North West.
Paddy has been a key player in the city’s musical underground since the late 1980s having played in the post punk band Biting Tongues with Graham Massey. He would also reappear with Massey in a touring version of 808 State and Toolshed. He was in the soul group Yargo, whose song ‘The Other Side Of Midnight’ was the theme tune to Tony Wilson’s Granada TV show of the same name, not to mention live bassist in Justin Robertson’s Lionrock and as a member of the Ninja Tune act Homelife, who released six albums between 1998 and 2009.
Seemingly beamed down to the earth to perform on other worldly old school analogue instruments whislt expertly drumming on a kit that looks fragile and perfect in equal measure, a Paddy Steer gig is something to behold.
Hot off the trails of the legendary tour supporting Henge, here at The Nico Ditch Paddy Steer will be supported by the synth based duo Sister Monica and the Alien. Rarely collabourating together, rarely even seen together, they blend a combination of analogue instruments, synthesizers and place-based archival voices, recordas & tapes, to fully improvise before your eyes, creating an orchestra of cosmic, sometimes dreamy ensambles.
