We're opening the 25–26 Season in Theatre Too (T2, the downstairs space) with THE NICETIES, a gripping and thought-provoking drama by Eleanor Burgess. Directed by Sasha Maya Ada, THE NICETIES opens September 18 and runs through October 12, 2025.
This two-character play features Krista Scott* (Janine) and Nicole Renee Johnson (Zoe) and follows a discussion between an ambitious young Black student at an elite East Coast university and her esteemed white professor who meet to discuss a paper about the American Revolution. What begins as a polite clash in perspective explodes into an urgent debate about race and power. In a time when instead of listening we’re waiting to offer an opinion, this play takes an empathetic view of both sides of a conversation we all need to be ready to have.
