About this Event
This training focuses on modern vehicle extrication tactics designed to improve efficiency and reduce time to patient access. The course emphasizes recognizing when it is safe to move or reposition vehicles during the extrication process to create faster access and simplify the rescue.
Students will practice dual-tool operations and coordinated crew work to speed up disentanglement while maintaining responder and patient safety. The class will highlight practical, modern extrication techniques that firefighters should have firsthand knowledge of and be able to apply on today’s vehicles. It seems high-speed, but this is everyday information in our world of work!
Instruction will be led by Josh “Tiny” Whitten and Clay Yarbrough, with industry expert support from Brandon Walker representing Holmatro (NAFECO), and Chance Williams representing Hurst (MES).
Bring what PPE your agency deems appropriate for vehicle extrication!
If the parking lot is full, please park all vehicles on one side of Commodore Drive so that trucks can still pass freely!
