'A post-jazz, post-rock, post-everything sonic experience that has few parallels or rivals.' - The GuardianHailed as the 'greatest trio on earth' by The New York Times, The Necks are one of the most revered cult bands of our time. Known for their hypnotic live performances and sprawling, improvisational works that slowly unravel, shift, and metamorphose — no two shows are ever the same. Marking an incredible 39 years into their career, The Necks continue to surprise with their distinct mix of experimental jazz and meditative minimalism.
Following a recent sold-out concert at Melbourne Recital Centre, the enigmatic trio returns to perform their 20th full-length release, Disquiet. Meticulously recorded and sculpted, the four extended pieces on Disquiet see Tony Buck, Chris Abrahams, and Lloyd Swanton pushing at the outer edges of their collective intuition, building and dismantling structures with microscopic focus and unmatched intentionality.
