Montana TheatreWorks presents...MEREDITH WILSON’S THE MUSIC MAN
Directed and Choreographed by Roger Castellano and featuring...
Alan M-L Wager as Professor Harold Hill and
Sarah Elizabeth Combs as Marian the Librarian
The Ellen Theatre is honored to host the multi-talented Alan M-L Wager, song and dance man extraordinaire, to portray the iconic role of Harold Hill. Based in both New York and Los Angeles, Mr. Wager has appeared on Broadway, most notably in Beauty and the Beast, as well as having travelled on the National Tour. In addition to singing engagements at Carnegie Hall and with the New York Pops, Mr. Wager’s impressive regional credits include such starring roles as: Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady); Ravenal (Show Boat); Pirelli and The Beadle (Sweeney Todd); Aldolpho (The Drowsy Chaperone); The Padre (Man Of La Mancha); and Albert (Bye Bye Birdie).
With a golden voice and a resume packed with Broadway’s most legendary leading ladies, we happily welcome Sarah Elizabeth Combs to Bozeman. Also from Los Angeles, Ms. Combs has graced stages across the country as Maria in The Sound of Music, Cosette in Les Miserables, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Joanna in Sweeny Todd, Mary Poppins from the hit musical of the same name, and, at the lavishly recreated Paris Opera House in Las Vegas, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. Truly, an astounding Who’s Who of famous females of musical theatre, and now Ms. Combs is sharing her talents with Ellen audiences as Marian Paroo in our production of The Music Man.
That’s right, Ya Got Trouble, my friend... right here in River City, when a talented cast of 42 singers and dancers, along with a whiz-bang live orchestra of 18 (count ‘em!), will have you tappin’ your toes to such hummable hits as The Wells Fargo Wagon, Gary, Indiana, ‘Til There Was You, Seventy-Six Trombones, and more.
Celebrating 32 Years of Summer Musicals - and 17 years at The Ellen!
Montana TheatreWorks, producers of Mary Poppins, Annie, Cabaret, The Sound of Music, and so many more, proudly present this five-time Tony Award® winner and one of the most beloved musicals of all time - The Music Man.
As the story goes… travelling salesman Harold Hill (who doesn’t know a treble clef from a cleft chin) scams the local folk into buying musical instruments and fancy uniforms for a boys’ band. But before the fast-talking con artist leaves town, his heart skips a beat when he meets Miss Marian, the librarian. It’s a tuneful tale of hometown harmony, love, and honor, sure to delight every generation. Line up the family, join the parade, and make it a summer to remember with this crown jewel of Americana musical theatre.
Estimated Run Time:
2 hours, 45 minutes - including one intermission.
