Join us for a powerful and unforgettable evening as we officially open The Moving Wall - a tribute to the brave men and women who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.This meaningful ceremony will include a "Laying of the Wreaths", and we invite members of our community to participate. Please consider bringing a wreath in honor of a loved one, a veteran, or in remembrance of all who gave so much for our freedom.
We are honored to welcome John Winfrey as our keynote speaker, who will share a message of service, sacrifice and remembrance.
A special tribute will be held for North Carolina's Missing in Action (MIA), led by the JROTC from South Stokes High School, with support from our local Boy Scout troop. This solemn portion of the ceremony will be a moving highlight of the evening.
We are also proud to have:
*Mayor Rick McCraw offering a warm welcome to all attendees.
*Department Commander of North Carolina, Devell "Bo" Durham, delivering remarks.
There will be many additional moments throughout the ceremony to honor our veterans and reflect on the cost of freedom.
This is more than an event - it is a time for our community to come together in remembrance, respect, and gratitude.
You won't want to miss this very special occassion.
