About this Event
the mother place is an exciting new venture here in the Highlands which was created to connect women locally during their motherhood journey. the mother place is super excited to announce a mum and baby yoga and brunch in collaboration with Helen Gillespie, a beautifully experienced yoga teacher where you can move, refuel and do something for yourself and your baby! Inverness' Creative Academy provides a bright and calming space perfect for this event.
The class: This mum and baby practice is designed so that both mother and little one can receive the benefits of yoga whilst spending special time together. It will involve gentle yoga (no experience necessary) breathwork, sound and relaxation. We will focus both on the mother and spend some time opening tired shoulders, hips etc and also specific movements for baby. These can be especially helpful for their wee digestive system and nervous system. The class is relaxed and mums are welcome to feed, change nappies etc as they need. Helen is a senior Yoga Teacher with 12 years of teaching experience and almost 20 years of practice. Helen trained in Pregnancy Yoga in 2015 and this is where she first learned about the incredible shift womens bodies go through during pregnancy and birth and became interested in how yoga can support this. In 2023 she was lucky enough to study with world renound Janet Balaskas to be an Active Birth facilitator. These trainings, years of teaching her students throughout pregnancy/postnatal period and having 3 children of her own have informed the way she teaches so both mums and babies can receive the wonderful benefits of yoga as they navigate so many changes within their bodies and lives in general.

After class, join me, Natasha (host of the mother place) at the cafe to refuel with a brunch style menu alongside some hot tea/coffee and a chance to meet other mums in a relaxed environment.
Your ticket will include:
-a 60 minute mum and baby yoga session with Helen.
