Yeah, everyone on a singles page or a dating app says they love moonlit walks along the beach, but this is your opportunity to put your money where your mouth is and your cash where your cardio is and see if you can handle a ludicrously long stroll along the sand under the light of a full moon.On Saturday 11th July 2025 a pretty goshdarn full moon will be sneaking up over the horizon. It will be at 116˚ with a luminosity of 99.3% and will be approximately 388,001km from Redhead Shark Tower.
What we will be doing is meeting at Redhead Smurf Club Carpark and leaving half of our cars there to drive down to Blacksmiths. Upon arriving there we will look up at the distant lights of Redhead some 10km away and ask ourselves "whose stupid bloody idea was this?" After we have all finished pre-emptively blaming one particular idiot, we will then start walking northwards.
Mr Sun will have gone to bed at 5:02pm, so the skies should be suitably dark by 6:18pm when Mister Squiggle's house makes an appearance. We will gaze at the moon as we trudge along, wonder in the majesty of the cosmos, and have spirited debate with the one inevitable person who will deny that Neil and Buzz ever set foot on it.
For safety, we will ask that everyone bring a torch and/or some glowsticks. There will be no easy egress off the beach once we get going, so it's pretty much Redhead Or Bust, although I may have my Jimny on standby near Jewells in case someone starts having serious trouble with their heartrate, blood pressure or brain function.
