Instructor: Patrick GossmanThis course takes a sometimes-nostalgic trip back in time to the 1970s to look at the most influential electronic inventions of that decade and their amazing forms today. Some provided fun while others allowed citizens to create, record, share and communicate with each other in new and powerful ways. Their impact far exceeds anything one could ever have imagined then; and today, all of these inventions fit in a single device in the palm of one's hand!
About the Presenter: Dr. Gossman holds a Ph.D. in psychology with a minor in computer science and has worked more than 50 years in computing and other digital technologies including television production and transmission, videoconferencing and photography. He currently serves as deputy chief information officer at Wayne State University, focusing on high-performance research computing and wireless technologies. He is also executive director of the Community Telecommunications Network, a non-profit education organization working to improve lives in Southeast Michigan through technology.
