The Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium welcomes you to enjoy a free evening of poetry featuring Carolyn Brigit Flynn and Maggie Paul on Saturday, December 13 @ 5:30 PM at the Pacific Grove Public Library (550 Central Avenue, PG, 93950).* * *
Carolyn Brigit Flynn is a poet, author, and teacher. Her memoir The Light of Ordinary Days, about her journey to reclaim her ancestral Irish homeland, is forthcoming in June 2026. Her works include the poetry collection Communion: In Praise of the Sacred Earth, and three literary anthologies, most recently Sacred Stone, Sacred Water: Women Writers and Artists Encounter Ireland. Her poems have appeared nationwide, including in Catamaran, Kosmos, Calyx, Porter Gulch Review, and elsewhere. She also publishes essays and poetry on her Substack newsletter called “Writing to Feed the Soul.” For more than 25 years, Carolyn has taught popular writing groups and intensives in the U.S, and also offers periodic writing retreats and tours in Ireland. Maggie Paul is the author of Scrimshaw (Hummingbird Press, 2020), Borrowed World (Hummingbird Press, 2011), and the chapbook Stones from the Baskets of Others (Black Dirt Press, 2000). Her poems appear in such journals as Poetry Miscellany, Moonstone, Red Wheelbarrow, SALT, The Jung Journal of Culture, Poetry Miscellany, and others. A co-founder of Poetry Santa Cruz, Maggie taught creative writing, composition and reading at UCSC, CSUMB, Cabrillo College, De Anza College, and Gavilan College.
