An accomplished guitarist/composer/producer, Mitch Bell is known for his inventive, genre-bending approach to jazz. Building upon the modern-era work of guitarists like Pat Metheny, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Lage Lund, Bell gained an early buzz in his formative years leading his own groups and working with mid-west jazz legends Lee Ruckerand Doc Kidwell.
In 2005, he was invited to attend the Banff Creative Music program, where he studied and performed with modern jazz icons Dave Douglas, Vijay Iyer, and Greg Osby. The group has toured the globe extensively in the decade since and performed at nearly every major music festival, including Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Coachella. As a result, Bell's Musical philosophy has continually evolved, embracing the stylistically varied mix of influences he has encountered along his diverse career path. Original compositions in modern jazz. Steeped in the tradition with a view to the future.
