About this Event
The Sanctuary Studio is proud to present the MJP Trio, an ensemble of three highly accomplished voices in modern jazz. Blending contemporary improvisation, classical influence, and deep jazz tradition, the trio creates performances rooted in musical conversation, spontaneity, and expressive depth.
Drummer and composer Matthew Heath (NEA Meet the Composer recipient; collaborator with Nicholas Payton, Dave Liebman, and Reggie Workman), bassist and composer Julian Esparza (San Francisco Conservatory graduate; collaborator with Joshua Redman and Jerry Bergonzi), and Los Angeles percussionist Pat Malone (CSULB jazz drum set graduate; collaborator with Bob Shepard and Bill Cunliffe) bring together extensive national performance experience and refined musicianship.
Join us for an intimate evening of world-class jazz and creative dialogue in sound.
