Renowned for their curated tribute performances celebrating legendary ensembles such as Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, and the Young Lions movement, this ensemble draws from their full repertoire of hard-bop and post-bop favorites.
They also channel the spirit and artistry of key modern and classic influencers, emulating the energy, swing, and musical sophistication of artists such as Christian McBride (bass), Kenny Garrett (saxophone), Roy Hargrove (trumpet), Joshua Redman (saxophone), Bobby Timmons (piano), Lee Morgan (trumpet), and Wayne Shorter (saxophone).
Led by drummer Mitch Bellert, the quintet brings together some of Brisbane’s top jazz musicians for a powerful, modern take on timeless sounds — honoring the rich tradition of American jazz while delivering fresh energy and swing.
