About this Event

Young children have big hearts. They want to help others, and they want to know that they can make a difference! The Mini Changemakers Class is an interactive child & caregiver class that sparks kids’ natural desire to contribute, combining stories and play with hands-on volunteering activities that actually support local community organizations. Each week, we’ll explore a new theme with age-appropriate projects, stories and fun that help preschoolers understand what it means to give back.

Join us for our free 6-week series this spring for kids ages 3-5, as we explore ways to serve our community and world.

Advance registration is required and space is limited, so sign up today!

Key Details

  • Registration is for the full 6-week series (Tuesdays 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19) from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Caregiver participation is required (not a drop-off class)
  • For safety and liability reasons, children outside of the 3-5 year age range may not attend, even as non-participants or alongside older siblings
  • Includes 2 offsite service field trips

What To Expect

The Mini Changemakers class nurtures a sense of community and familiarity for kids, following the same rhythm each week so they know what to expect, even as we focus on new themes.

At the start of each class, we’ll gather for circle time with songs and stories. Then our Mini Changemakers will work on their developmentally appropriate service project for the week in partnership with their caregivers. We’ll end with themed play and a closing circle with ideas to keep the concepts top of mind throughout your week.

About Us

Created by two Frederick moms, Mini Changemakers is a passion project born from our desire to foster a love of service in our own young kids. We believe our littlest community members when they say, “I can do it!” With a little guidance and encouragement, children can make a positive change in our society.

In addition to The Mini Changemakers class, we offer monthly family volunteering opportunities to allow families to serve together and build community.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to empower children and their families to serve the community in meaningful ways, together. We hope that Mini Changemakers becomes an integral part of the community both for the organizations we support and for families who hope to make our world a better place.
