About this Event
Get unstuck with the Messy Page Brigade, a writing circle for chaotic creatives. Join us Tuesday, March 3 from 6-8 p.m. in the Miller-Vincent Room at the Keene Public Library for a generative writing workshop designed to help reignite your creative spark.
In these workshops, we use the power of Gateless Writing to make creativity fun and playful again. Here’s how the session will go:
- We’ll learn about creativity, the brain, and the ways perfectionism keeps us stuck
- We’ll meditate together to tap into your authentic creative flow
- We’ll write independently for 20-25 minutes guided by an optional prompt
- We’ll share our work in a structured group feedback session designed to spotlight your strengths (or, if you choose not to read, you’ll get to hear all the other amazing pieces and share your thoughts!)
This workshop might be for you if you’re:
- A recovering perfectionist learning to embrace the mess
- An exhausted overachiever who just wants to enjoy creativity again
- An artsy weirdo longing to connect with other creatives
- A former “gifted kid” who put their creative dreams on hold
- A neurodivergent writer tired of feeling blocked and burnt out
Here’s what some past workshop attendees had to say:
“The positivity and sincerity of the discussions made me feel like I had the room to experiment with a weird half-baked idea on the page and see what came out—not an atmosphere you'll find in every writing group!” – Paul Cuno-Booth
“I came away energized and feeling positive about the writing experience. This feeling lasted days.” – Pat Dobie
“I love seeking out what I love about other people’s writing. It becomes like a treasure hunt.” – Lore Alexander
“It made me feel very uplifted about my writing for the first time in quite a long while.” – Kharysa Watt
